The websites purpose must be considered as a business-to-business (B2B) website design will differ greatly from a business-to-consumer (B2C) website.

The site's visitor understanding the site content depends how the website works. This is critical to the user experience design. User experience is related to layout, clear instructions and labeling on a website.


How well a visitor utilizes a website depends on the interactive design of the site. The usefulness of a site will encourage the visitor to use it more often.

Skilled users will already be well versed with typical website features. However, we must consider every type of visitor regardless of experience to ensure they take the complete advantage or usefulness from the site. A more universal user experience should be considered instead of always aiming for advanced interactivity. The use of plug-ins or complex coding for interactivity should be considered depending on the target audience and the risks that come with it.

Emphasis should be placed on the web content and site functionality loading immediately. 


Visitors with additional browser features or faster Internet access receive the enhanced version instead.

This is achieved utilizing HTML, CSS and JavaScript in a strategic and intentional way.


Content arrives via HTML whilst styling and animation through CSS as much as technically possible. Further advanced site enhancements to utilize JavaScript. Page text should load immediately through the HTML source code rather than having to wait for JavaScript to load the content. This enables content to be readable with minimized loading time and use of bandwidth. We must consider a visitor's use of text-based browsers and maximize backwards compatibility.


Responsive Web Design

It is important to make sure web pages render well on a variety of devices, window or screen resolutions from minimum to maximum display size to ensure usability and visual pleasure.

This is achieved using fluid grid concepts, flexible images and CSS style rules allowing responsive layouts to automatically adjust and adapt to any device screen size, whether it is a desktop, a laptop, a tablet, or a mobile phone.


Font styles used for websites should be browser friendly to avoid complications.

Popular browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Opera and Firefox include font downloading from the CSS3 font module increasing the interest in web typography.



Motion Graphics

Using motion graphics depends on the target market for the website.


Motion graphics are suited for entertainment-oriented website. However, a website target audience which is formal (such as business, community, or government) might find them unnecessary or distracting.


This doesn't mean that more serious content couldn't be enhanced with animated or video presentations that is relevant to the content.
